Midweek Meditation - June 29, 2017

"Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on His throne to be king for the LORD your God! Because your God has loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness."

King Solomon was one of the greatest kings of Israel. During his reign, Israel experienced a great time of peace and prosperity. In 2 Chronicles 2, we see that Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom to rule the people, and in response to this request; God blessed him with riches and honor like no other before or after. Solomon's wisdom was known throughout the world and rulers like the queen of Sheba, came to hear his words and see his wealth.
Much like Solomon, God has blessed each and every one of us with something. It may not be the great power and wealth that Solomon had, but everything we have can be used for Him. When we use our time, money or words to be a blessing, we are living out the Gospel and bringing glory to God.
Today, look for opportunities to bless others. As you do this, others around you will take notice and like the queen of Sheba will proclaim, "Blessed be the Lord your God."
Life Lesson: God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others.
Dear God,Thank You for the blessings in my life. I praise You for giving me so much and I pray that You would help me to use it for Your Kingdom. Open my eyes today for opportunities to bless others and glorify Your Name. Continue to use me to reach others with the Gospel. In Jesus' Name…

“Pleasure In The Midst of Our Infirmities” - August 17, 2017

by  Elder  Rev. Gregory L. Edmond 2 Corinthians 12:10 "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong." NKJV "I take pleasure in infirmities." This is a very odd statement from the Apostle Paul. How is it possible that we can take pleasure in the hardships and trials of life?  We can take pleasure in these things because when we are being attacked & our strength is disappearing, we can know that the power of God is about to break through in our lives. When we are weak, God is strong on our behalf. When we find ourselves at the end of ourselves, God is there to carry us the rest of the way. He is our hope when we get those bad diagnoses because we know that healing is coming in this life or the next. "God's Refreshing Comfort" - August 31, 2017

Edmond 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.  NKJV Picture, if you will, a line of people. These people are from different backgrounds and families. Only one thing unites them and that is the fact that all are incredibly thirsty. Each of them longs for a cup of cold water. Now, imagine the first in this great line being given a case of ice cold water. With great anticipation, they grab a bottle and begin to quench their overpowering thirst. The dryness and pain that came with the thirst is quickly forgotten as they embrace the refreshing liquid.
